Formation, prayer, commitment
The spirituality of FIAT is addressed to everyone, in view of an
ever greater participation in evangelization. It is for this reason that the
organization distributes significant works of theological, pastoral and
spiritual reflection, and that it encourages people to attend their meetings,
formation sessions and retreats, notably the “Upper Room”.
The Association seeks to make known the writings of Cardinal Suenens as a means
of formation not only because of the ever-relevant depth of their contents, but
also because of their underlying spiritual pedagogy of evangelization.
This is why, with the support of Cardinal Danneels, the FIAT Association
published a new edition, in three volumes, of Cardinal Suenens’ writings which
reveal the emergence in the Church of a New Pentecost. The title is in itself a
message: The Holy Spirit, the Life-Breath of the Church. In the preface,
Cardinal Danneels wrote: “... these writings may be regarded as dealing with
‘discernment’, and they have lost none of their usefulness or their pertinence…”
